U.S. National Committee Member Terry Garcia Nominated to Key U.S. Administration Post

U.S. President Barack Obama has nominated Terry Garcia to serve as the Deputy Secretary, Department of Commerce.  Garcia, currently the Executive Vice President for Mission Programs at the National Geographic Society, served on the U.S. Committee of the Census of Marine Life and the National Commission on the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill and Deepwater Drilling.  The Department of Commerce oversees several agencies, including the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
