The deep sea carnivorous sponge Chondrocladia (Meliiderma) [1] turbiformis Vacelet, Kelly & Schlacher-Hoenlinger, 2009, known only from Pyre and Gothic seamounts in the Graveyard seamount complex, Chatham Rise, has been selected as a 2010 Top 10 New Species [2] by the International Institute for Species Exploration [3].
